Michael Jordan and Nike teamed up to develop the first Air Jordan 1s in 1985. A few years down the line, Tinker Hatfield took over the reins of the creative team. His first shoe was the Jordan 3. Not long after that shoe line was released, he designed the Air Jordan 4 collection, which launched in 1989. While wearing the Jordan 4 sneakers, Michael Jordan led his team to the Eastern Conference Finals and famously hit a game-winning bucket that gave the Bulls a series-clinching win over the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round of the 1989 NBA Playoffs.

The Jordan 4 looks different from previous models because it has over-molded mesh on its upper. It also has molded eyelets that allow people to customize their lacing patterns. Like the Jordan 3, the Jordan 4 has a visible Nike Air unit and a mid-top height, and it adds a set of wings to the lacing system. The Jordan Red Thunder 4 hit the market on January 15, 2022. It has a black upper made out of Durabuck, which is a patented synthetic leather. This shoe is sometimes referred to as the Crimson, and it also has black on its tongue, laces, wings, and outsole. Nike added bold color to this model in the form of molded red eyelets and a red midsole. Underneath the black netting that's on the side of the upper as well as over the top of the foot, a red material looks very vibrant. The back of the heel has a molded heel tab that features a pattern on it that echoes the design seen in the molded eyelets. At the back of the heel, a bright white Jumpman will catch your attention. Nike incorporated another white Jumpman on the woven tongue tag. The word "Flight" has been embroidered with red stitching onto the tag underneath that logo. The red midsole has an area that exposes the Air cushioning in the sole, and the two-tone red and black outsole showcases a herringbone pattern that can help with traction. The lining of the shoe fits with the overall color scheme. The collar is black, and the inner part of the tongue is red.

Air Jordan 4 Thunder

The Jordans 4 Red Thunder is very similar to the Air Jordan 4 Thunder, a model that debuted in 2006 and was released again in 2012. The Nike AJ 4 Thunder has a black upper with black wings, laces, and mesh. Instead of having red accents, the Thunder has bright yellow accents. These accents have been placed exactly where the Red Thunder showcases red elements, including on the molded eyelets, underneath the mesh, and on the midsole.

Red and black are two popular colors frequently seen in Nike shoes, and models that pay homage to Michael Jordan's Chicago Bulls have these colors in them.
