Upcoming Jordan 12 Releases to Watch Out For

There are four Jordan 12 releases that either released in the last month of 2022, or will release in the first seven months of 2023.

One of the releases is going to represent the WNBA. Another one is rumored to be a friends and family edition, but you'll want to keep your eye on that as it could end up being a limited edition that you have a chance at snagging.

Brilliant Orange

This Jordans 12 new release, set for launch in July 2023, is inspired by the WNBA. The sneakers will have black uppers with bright orange along the mudguard, midsoles, outsoles, and branding details. They are a women's exclusive.

A Ma Maniere

A Ma Maniere is collaborating with Jordan on a new 12 release. It's expected that this one will be for friends and family. The release of this Jordan 12 has been pushed back a few times. You can expect to see it come out in 2023. The A Ma Maniere will have a white upper and a deep burgundy mudguard. Deep burgundy colors most of the midsole and outsole, too.

Cherry Low Golf

The Cherry colorway is coming to the golf version of the Jordan 12. Cherry was one of the original colorways for the Jordan 12. The regular Cherry 12s were last retroed in 2009.

This new Jordan 12 release was released on December 13, 2022. It has a white leather upper with the same puffed ray-like texture of the regular 12. Just as with the regular 12, the golf shoes feature a lizard print mudguard, which is cherry-red for this colorway. The uppermost eyelet is metallic silver, and the bottoms of the shoes are decked out in spikes. Branding details and the collar lining are black.

Lakers

One of Michael Jordan's NBA rivals was the Lakers. The Jordan 12 Lakers will be released on July 29, 2023. It will have a black base with field purple, taxi, and metallic gold accents. Exactly how the sneakers will be accented hasn't been revealed yet. Sneaker enthusiasts are expecting the mudguards to be purple while taxi and metallic gold are used for the branding.

History of the Jordan 12

The first Jordan 12 was brought to retail in 1996–1997 in five colorways. Since then, many new colorways have been created. You can browse your options on eBay. The first low-top version of the 12 came out in 2004, just one year after the first 12 Retro.

Michael Jordan wore the 12 during the NBA finals in which he had flu-like symptoms during one of the games. Fans loved his perseverance so much that both the specific colorway that he wore and the 12 itself were in greater demand. The black and red 12s that he donned during the game became dubbed the Flu Game.
