Thanks to the success of the Suicide Squad film, DC now has not one but two high profile teams on its books. So it was surely only a matter of time before Amanda Waller's 'very dangerous people who can do some good' brushed up against the Justice League.

That time is nearly upon us with the announcement of the Justice League vs Suicide Squad event comic, which will begin in December.

Reflecting Batfleck and Waller's conversation in Suicide Squad's mid-credits scene, the story will see Bruce Wayne decide that the government-sponsored superteam is a liability and needs to be shut down.

It will tie into the ongoing Justice League and Suicide Squad titles as well as the six-issue miniseries.

"This is something DC had been talking about for a while, even before I came on," writer Joshua Williamson - who is currently working on The Flash - told The Wall Street Journal.

He will be joined by Justice League artist Jason Fabok.

Outside of the inevitable focus on Harley Quinn and Batman, the spotlight will be falling on Killer Frost - a recent addition to Waller's team and a character that will be familiar to fans of the Flash TV show.

Justice League vs Suicide Squad lands neatly between Suicide Squad and the upcoming Justice League movie, which will be released on November 17, 2017.

Obviously, we have no idea how the story will end, but we do know that the next Justice League of America comic will spin out of its events.
