Actor and director Martin McDonagh is back on our screens tonight as he stars in the new Channel 5 series The Night Caller. The series sees a lonely taxi driver develop a growing obsession with a late-night radio DJ, after his job loss and marriage breakdown.

Martin is well known for his long career which has seen him win an Academy Award, six BAFTA Awards, four Golden Globe Awards, and three Olivier Awards. In 2006, McDonagh won an Academy Award for his short film Six Shooter, which is the first film that he wrote and directed.

He has also directed the black comedy films In Bruges, Seven Psychopaths, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, and The Banshees of Inisherin. But many people may not realise that he is part of a famous power couple.

Martin started dating the actor and writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge in 2018. She's well known as the creator, head writer, and star of the comedy series Fleabag, for which she won three Primetime Emmy Awards, two Golden Globes and a British Academy Television Award.

She received further Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for writing and producing the huge BBC spy thriller series Killing Eve.

Viewers might also recognise her from the second season of ITV drama Broadchurch, and for roles in the films Albert Nobbs, The Iron Lady, Goodbye Christopher Robin, and Solo: A Star Wars Story. She also contributed to the screenplay of the James Bond film No Time to Die and starred in the adventure film Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.
