Andrew Unterberger

Andrew Unterberger is a deputy editor on the digital side of Billboard, specializing in staff projects, pop music history and the charts. He previously served as a full-time writer and editor at Spin and Popdust in the 2010s, and his work has also appeared in Stereogum and GQ. He has written part-time about his much-beloved (and much-hated) Philadelphia 76ers since 2009. He has lived in New York since 2004, when he began attending New York University as an undergrad, graduating with a double major in journalism and English. In 2007, he was one of three winners on season two of VH1’s trivia game show The World Series of Pop Culture, and in 2021, the guy from Eve 6 quote-tweeted him in agreement with his choice for the best Pixies album. He loves lists and Dr Pepper, hates rigid thinking and shredded lettuce, and thinks car horns should only be heard in disco records.
