I came back from halftime and it was 1x1... and they were calling Flamengo's goal back for offside... Couldn't watch the rest of the second half and when I come back it was 5x1, wtf? Bruno Henrique was insane.

Look like I was a year early on my Brasileirão pick. Atlético deserved champs after almost 50 years. I know you need a couple of more points ... but congrats @Toguchi !
Seeing Grêmio among the choices is just surreal today, but they were indeed touted as favorites by some.
Thank you Celito! Congratulations on winning Libertadores! Brasileirão is the dream of any Brazilian fan. Contagem regressiva para a festa em Minas Gerais! GALO DOIDO!!!
I kind of messed that one up didn't I ? It's bizarre because they do not fit the profile of many if not all of the big clubs relegated in yesteryears. Grêmio is pretty well managed financially paying its staff and players on time AFAIK. They are going to take hit money wise next season though as getting relegated has a bigger financial impact nowadays. So next year the segundona will have Vasco, Cruzeiro, and with 98% chance Grêmio and Botafogo comes back up. Vasco and Cruzeiro are the first big teams who couldn't bounce back the season after being relegated. It's a damn shame how cartolas were able to screw up Vasco and Cruzeiro.
And we were relegated. With a payroll of 15 million a month. Paid on time every single month. All the whole some clubs with debts over a billion, keep hiring expensive players. In a serious league Corinthians would be relegated for its debts. And Atlético Mineiro would be prevented from hiring new players because of financial fair play
I saw that Gremio's TV money will drop from R$60m to $R8m. That's a substantial drop. Around 10% of revenue. If we are going to talk about serious leagues though, I can only think (of the top ones) of the Bundesliga which has decent regulations (even though Red Bull was more or less able to circumvent it). Barca, Valencia and a few other teams are fuked financially in La Liga. La Liga finally stopped Barca but they should have done it sooner. EPL allows UAE to pump crazy money into Man City through dubious sponsorship deals and now let the Saudi Arabia Government buy Newcastle... which is an absolute joke. What French league has allowed PSG to do is a joke as well. In essence, serious leagues are all of the American professional leagues.
