President Joe Biden’s visit to Boston is expected to be felt around the city through Tuesday, with Boston Police warning of major traffic delays along his route and a pro-Palestine rally against his visit planned downtown.

Biden is scheduled to fly into Boston and attend two campaign receptions in the city, following a stop to deliver remarks at an event in Nashua, New Hampshire on Tuesday morning, according to the White House. Boston Police posted traffic advisories related to the visit for Logan Airport, the Back Bay and the Seaport District from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

“GENOCIDE JOE IS COMING TO BOSTON,” wrote Boston Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL) in an Instagram post Sunday night. “Let’s make it clear that he is NOT welcome in our city while he continues to fund the Israeli genocide of Palestinians!”

The Boston PSL and Boston Coalition for Palestine posted calls for demonstrators to gather at South Station at 3:30 p.m. in protest of the president’s visit.

Boston Police warned they expect vehicle traffic to be “impacted” by street closures and delays across several neighborhoods in a post on X, formerly Twitter, on Monday. They did not specify which streets may be impacted or closed during the visit.

Police did say they expected traffic disruptions “near Logan International Airport, the Back Bay, and the Seaport District for a Presidential visit.”

Biden last landed in Boston for fundraising events, including one featuring singer-songwriter James Taylor and picketed by pro-Palestine protestors, in early December of last year.
