Yes they are real, there are 2 in Pahrump. I don't remember where they are as it's been years since I've even been to Pahrump.

Prostitution is banned in Pahrump but allowed in Nye County outside of Pahrump.

the brothels are all the way down at the end of homestead road and there are 2 of them. there is also a big strip club right in town that i noticed I dont know if it is still open but I saw cars there.

Shari's and the Chicken Ranch are both on the very southern portion of town...no one goes out there unless, well...you know! Actually, Shari's has fairly decent food. A bunch of my friends said they go out there every couple of months just for lunch...so I took my husband there. Interesting, they'll take you on a "tour" as you wait for your food...
Other than that, I can't imagine the prositution is any worse than any other city in the US. We have four children, and I'm not worried in the least. My only issue is the HUGE strip club on the main strip that has scantily clad women for all the world to see (sets a poor example for my girls, ya know!)...my youngest daughter asked why she couldn't play there (it's built like a big castle...she wanted to play "princess")....ummmm, how do you explain that to a 5 year old? Other than that...no real issues.

I am a high school senior out here in Pahrump and lived here since kindergaten and those dont affect kids at all. There is only one out here which is called Sherrys Ranch. Its not even in City Limits its outside of it. Thats where people get things confused. The only reason you should avoid living in this town is there is nothing to do for kids, no mall, no movie theaters, all we have is a walmart, smiths, albertsons & home depot. We have a couple fast food places. But i mean its a nice town to live in if you wanted it to. But that kind of stuff with brothels dont even hit us or bother us at all. There is one thats like 40 miles north of Pahrump in a town called Crystal, but its never affected me or any of my friends.
