Macgeek doesn't know what he's talking about. I would store up to a 55 gallon drum as long as it is properly stored and sealed. it's the fumes that burn, not the liquid.

I store 5 gallons of Torco Octane boost in my garage on an ongoing basis for my V8.

You simply follow safe storage/handling habits and you'll be fine. Buy quality storage containers and make sure everything is well ventilated. Just to be on the safe side, I store my gasoline in the draftiest place in the garage.

Having said all the above, sometimes it's best just to go with what you're comfortable with. If keeping gas in the garage makes you nervous - it's probably best not to do it. There's nothing wrong with being too cautious.

I wish we had more conversations about vehicles here. I'm absolutely fascinated by anything that moves under power (even steam) and spend considerable time on auto sites each day. I've got my yearly Jeep project going and it's going to be a beauty.

Sounds good! thanks for the reply.

I got 2 garages, one got water heater in it another got a sub electrical panel, but the water heater garage is right next to my bedroom I think I will leave gas can in the panel one.

Yeah need more convo about vehicles, I just learned to do some very basic car maintenace and it's pretty fun and rewarding to work on your own car. wish I took mechanics class in HS, not many people around me are into cars and watching youtube is great, but working on a new car that still got warranty left and after whatever maintenance you will drive it on the road with other cars, so need to be 100% !!

Thumbs up, LVguy. Working on vehicles is my therapy. Well, then there's the point that I don't trust other mechanics at all.
