Very big money to be made in the car sales business. Much better than making minimum wage or working on the strip as a slave.

They will not let me go out and try to sell cars. The initial training was great the residual training my management is supposed to give me is nonexistent. [language] [ ] the other day and went and got a customer. Got him inside and the papers filled out (info gathering) [language] it's not my fault, [language ] I spent a whole 30 minutes outside. Why are you yelling at me?

Get used to it, brother. It's a numbers game. Just keep plugging. Remember, you're going to NOT sell a car the vast majority of the time. Fortunately, when you do, you're going to make good money. If I'm not mistaken, average closing percentage is 15-20% (may have changed in the last few years), so you're going to hear no alot more than yes.

Great thread. Love the insider info on what goes on behind the scenes. After reading it, I'm afraid to step into any Nevada car dealership. Guess I'll just buy my next car from a private party. I also read somewhere that if you do that, you don't have to pay sales tax. Thanks atheist.

You are NOT going to sell a car every day. You should sell 1 out of every 5 or 6 opportunities. The only dealerships with higher closing rations (for the most part) are high-end. We had a 40% closing ratio at Lexus, but that's still only 4 out of 10. You need to be more realistic on this one.
