Nice day today. I saw people without coats on. It was 26 degrees and sunny. It felt great compared to the weather we have had most of this winter.

Anyone see this forecast:
ANOTHER SIGNIFICANT SNOWSTORM POSSIBLE OVER SOUTHERN WISCONSIN MONDAY NIGHT...

DO NOT PUT THOSE SNOW SHOVELS AWAY JUST YET. ALTHOUGH WE WILL HAVE A QUIET WEEKEND AND TEMPERATURES MAY GET ABOVE FREEZING SUNDAY...MOTHER NATURE IS LOADING UP THE POTENTIAL FOR MORE ACCUMULATING SNOW MONDAY AFTERNOON AND MONDAY NIGHT.

LOW PRESSURE IS EXPECTED TO GATHER OVER THE CENTRAL PLAINS SUNDAY NIGHT BEFORE TRACKING ACROSS ILLINOIS MONDAY EVENING AND INDIANA MONDAY NIGHT. THIS IS A FAVORABLE TRACK FOR PRODUCING MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW OVER SOUTHERN WISCONSIN.

CURRENT INDICATIONS ARE THAT 6 TO 8 INCHES OF SNOW ARE POSSIBLE IF THE STORM DEVELOPS AND TRACKS AS EXPECTED. WINTER STORM WATCHES MAY BE NEEDED IN THE NEXT DAY OR TWO FOR MUCH OF SOUTHERN WISCONSIN.

NATURALLY...THIS STORM IS SEVERAL DAYS AWAY...AND THE EXPECTED TRACK HAS BEEN SHIFTING A BIT SOUTH...AND MAY CHANGE SOME MORE. ENJOY THE QUIET WEATHER THIS WEEKEND BUT KEEP IN TOUCH WITH THE LATEST FORECASTS CONCERNING THIS POTENTIAL WINTER STORM.

Are they taunting us?

We have only had about 53 inches here. But the weatherman said the last time we got this much snow we got 20 inches in April!

I remember it snowing in May once, before global warming of course. (true story)

What a great weekend. Lots of sun and melting snow. Took a long walk and didn't need a winter jacket.
The town came and removed the snow piles from the end of our driveway and around the mailbox so if we get more we have some room to put it!

Our driveway is not only ice-free but actually DRY today! Wow.... I can't say that I've ever been ecstatic and downright misty-eyed at the vision of bare cement before, but today I came close. Even the icy ruts on our quiet side street have turned to puddles of slush, and while I realize that they'll quickly resolidify once the temps plummet back down and the clouds roll in, at least it gives me a glimmer of hope that spring might yet actually arrive. And maybe even before July.

Nice weekend. We went on a picnic on frozen Lake Pewaukee. The kids liked playing on the frozen lake. We saw people playing basketball in shorts and others in short sleeved shirts. It was 28 degrees then, although today it got up to 33!It is all relative, as anyone who lives south of here would consider it cold It was nice to get a break though before the next storm.

Overcast today but yesterday was absolutely wonderful! I spent quite a bit of time chopping away at the ice in my driveway. Sidewalks are clear of ice, too, finally!

I'm telling you spring is on the way!
