Menards! Menards started in Eau Claire. Even though you can find them all over the midwest now, they started in Wisconsin. According to wikipedia article on John Menard, who founded Menards (John Menard, Jr. - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) he is the richest person in Wisconsin and has a net worth of 7.3 billion.

Chocolate: Northern Chocolate in Mke is also worth mentioning for its confections, and Omanhene has its U.S. office in Mke.

Quality Candy/Buddy Squirrel is a Wisconsin original for chocolates, candies, and nuts

Beerntsen's in Manitowoc (also a shop in Cedarburg) does great chocolate and sundaes in its cute, old-fashioned digs

Some non-food Wisconsin originals of note:

The International Crane Foundation in Baraboo

Spring Green and The House on the Rock

Wright's Greek Orthodox Church in Mke and his Unitarian Church in Madison

Cedar Creek Settlement in Cedarburg

Horicon Marsh

The Ice Age Trail

The Basilica of Saint Josaphat in Mke

The Pfister Hotel in Mke

The Dane County Farmer's Market in Madison

Lakeshore festivals all summer long in Mke

Rhinelander's Hodag

If you know someone who would put a vacation in Maui and a vacation in "The Dells" on an even plateau, you are a Wisconsinite!

1) the racing sausages

2) the pepperoni-cannolli guy who did (does?) sell his wares on Water St and North Ave.

The Mars Cheese Castle, and everything it stands for

Milwaukee's Water Tower (which Oscar Wilde preferred over Chicago's "castellated monstrosity")

Supper clubs aren't uniquely Wisconsin, but Wisconsin seems to be the center of this phenomenon

Orson Welles, Liberace, Violent Femmes, Steve Miller, Spencer Tracy, Gene Wilder, Harry Houdini, Joseph McCarthy, Robert La Follette, George Kennan, Georgia O'Keefe, William Rehnquist, Les Paul, Frank Lloyd Wright, Thorstein Veblen... many others

The Ringling Brothers and their circus

Oscar Meyer, now part of Kraft Foods
