Healthcare system dependent on economic power

The interconnectedness of the economy and nursing may not be obvious initially but economic power is critical to the delivery of healthcare.

Dr. Christine Greenidge the Chief Operations Officer at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital who delivered the feature address at the Nurses Seminar for Nurses Week, says the sustainability of the island’s healthcare systems depends on money.

Dr. Greenidge told the nurses gathered that in looking at the system they should be able to identify unnecessary expenditures to save costs in some areas so that there is money to go around.
