COVID-19 vaccination provides very good protection against developing severe disease. Everyone aged 5 and over can be vaccinated for free. If you’ve had COVID-19 you’ll need to wait 3 months.
Boosters are available for people 18 and over at least 3 months after their primary vaccinations, while people 16 and 17 years old must wait for at least 6 months. A second booster is recommended for those at increased risk of severe illness from COVID-19 and available for everyone over the age of 50 and health and disability workers over 30.
