His last activity in football dates back to 2007. He was coach of Burkina Faso, after having managed the national team of Benin. But Didier Notheaux is best known for his career in France, first as a player for FC Rouen from his professional career in 1970. With his 178 matches and 30 goals, the former central defender is considered to be an icon of the club, which brings “all his support to his family and loved ones”.
His playing career ended in 1981 after passing through RC Lens and Stade Rennais, Didier Notheaux became a coach in Lisieux. He mainly sat on the bench at Le Havre AC, which he led to the Ligue 2 title in 1985. His experiences then allowed him to return to Rennes, but also directed him to Reims, Valence and Sochaux. He was also a forerunner by going to China to be in charge of Guangzhou FC.
