Product Terms
The terms formerly contained in the “Online Services Terms” have been moved into the “Product Terms” and no longer exist as standalone terms. The unified Product Terms are incorporated by reference into agreements governing Customer’s use of Microsoft Products and Professional Services.
Access to versions of the Product Terms and Online Services Terms published prior to February 2021 are available here. Updates that Microsoft makes from time to time to Use Rights apply to Customer as set forth in Customer’s agreement.
All references to the following terms in applicable Microsoft agreements now refer to corresponding sections in the Product Terms, or to linked content within the Product Terms.

Get Started
To find your terms, simply start at Product Offerings. From here navigate to one of the listed products or services and view all terms that apply to its use.
How to Use This Site
While the Product Terms brings together the terms for all products and services offered in our licensing programs, it also provides the ability to filter and view only the terms relevant to the Product(s) you license under your selected licensing program. This allows for detailed, specific information on the product and program of interest.
Select a Program
To see the applicable terms, you will first need to determine the licensing program you are using or interested in. Learn more about our license programs.
Once a program is selected, you can navigate to the Product Offerings page and select the desired product or service to view the applicable terms.
Navigation
The side navigation bar offers top level navigation of the Product Terms content as well as a search bar used to search terms content. In most cases, you will start with Product Offerings, then navigate to your desired Software or Online Service product(s).
If you want to view the Product Terms for Exchange Server, you will:
- Click on Product Offerings
- Under the category – Software, search for and click on Exchange Server. Alternatively, you can search for Exchange Server in the search bar.
- You will see the following in the top/breadcrumb nav:
This indicates you are viewing the terms for Exchange Server in the licensing program you have selected.
If you want to view the Product Terms for Exchange Online, you will:
- Click on Product Offerings
- Under the category – Online Services, search for and click on Exchange Online. Alternatively, you can search for Exchange Online in the search bar.
- You will see the following in the top/breadcrumb nav:
This indicates you are viewing the terms for Exchange Online in the program you have selected.
