A Klarna One-time card is a virtual single-use card that can be used for shopping at any US-facing online store, including Microsoft Store. Every time you create a One-time card with Klarna, you will be given a unique card number that you can use during checkout when completing your purchase, like any regular credit card. Each Klarna One-time card then follows its own payment plan that you can pay and manage in the Klarna app or on Klarna.com. Learn more here.

If you’re shopping from your desktop, shop as you normally would, adding your products to your cart to see your total. Next, using your mobile device, scan the QR code pictured above to download the Klarna app to your mobile device. Once you have downloaded the app and created your Klarna account, you will have the option to create a Klarna One-time card. Input the total amount of your purchase in the app and complete the rest of the prompts to secure your card. Proceed to Checkout on Microsoft.com and sign into your Microsoft account. Once in checkout, select “Credit card or debit card” under Payment method and manually enter your Klarna One-time card details to complete your order.

If you’re shopping from your mobile device, download the app by clicking the “Download App” link. Once you have downloaded the app and created your Klarna account, search for “Microsoft” in the search bar on the home screen of the Klarna app. Continue to shop as you normally would, adding your products to your cart to see your total. Next, press the “Review and Checkout” button to see your total and sign into your Microsoft account. Press the pink “K. Pay” button on the bottom of the store page within the Klarna app and select “Create a One-time card” to complete the rest of the prompts and secure your card. Your Klarna One-time card details will auto-fill to complete the checkout.

There are no fees incurred when you pay on time. Klarna’s enhanced financing allows shoppers to buy now and spread the cost over time with interest rates as low as 0% for up to 6 months. There is no hard credit check when signing up for the One-use card. Klarna advises that it may perform a soft credit check, but it will have no impact on your credit score.

Depending on the payment option you choose when creating the Klarna One-time card, there may be a pre-authorization hold placed on the card. This ensures that enough funds are available on your credit or debit card to complete the purchase.

Once you apply for the Klarna One-time card, you can see in the Klarna app how much you are approved to spend. Klarna always offers the option to pay in 4 interest-free payments. Certain purchases may qualify the user to pay over a longer period of time. You can check your available balance on your Klarna One-time card by signing in with your Klarna account. If you have questions about the approved amount generated by Klarna for any one-time card, please contact Klarna Customer Service team by calling (844) KLARNA1 (844-552-7621).

If the purchase is unsuccessful, the Klarna One-time card will still be valid and you can try to complete the purchase again. If the error is ongoing, please contact Klarna Customer Service team by calling (844) KLARNA1 (844-552-7621).

Klarna One-time card purchases show up in the Payments section under Payment Options.

Microsoft Store’s refund policy applies to purchases, including purchases made using Klarna One-time card transactions. Learn more about returning items you bought from Microsoft Store for exchange or refund. If you need to return your Surface device after your purchase, and within the 60-day return policy for Surface, you will be refunded just as you would with a regular credit card. You can also alert Klarna of your return through the Klarna app, and your payment schedule will automatically be paused and your payment will be refunded to the original form of payment.

Each Klarna One-time card will expire within 24 hours from issuance or after use, whichever is first. If it is not used and expires, you will need to create a new card.

For any transactions at Microsoft Store, the Klarna One-time card credentials (e.g. card number, name, CVV) are stored in your Microsoft Account. Therefore, as your Klarna One-time card will expire within 24 hours or after the first use, we recommend you remove the used card from your Microsoft account to avoid card declines for subsequent purchases. If your Klarna One-time card expires before your one-time purchase within 24 hours from issuance, generate a new Klarna One-time card in your Klarna mobile app and use it in Microsoft Store’s checkout to finalize your purchase.

When you first create a Klarna One-time card, it will be connected to your personal debit or credit card. According to the payment option you chose when creating the Klarna One-time card, a payment plan will be created. Each purchase follows its own payment schedule and payments are made according to the agreed payment plan. The first payment won’t be charged until your order is shipped.

As the Klarna One-time card has a 24-hour expiration time or one-time purchase within the 24 hours following card generation, it is best to not use the Klarna One-time card for recurring subscriptions products like Microsoft 365 or Xbox Game Pass to avoid the cancellation of your services at the renewal date. If you do use your Klarna One-time card purchase a subscription product, please update your credit card details to a different payment method in your Microsoft account for your subscription service before the renewal due date.
