Welcome to Remote Support!

You will be asked to download a small Rescue Applet to your computer to begin the session.

The Applet will allow you to:

  • Chat with the technician(s)
  • View a detailed session log
  • Allow or deny the technician the right to perform certain actions
  • Send individual files to a technician (or to the Lead Technician during a Collaboration Session)
  • End Remote Control by clicking the large X at upper left
  • End a session by clicking the small X at upper right

Note: The Applet will automatically remove itself from your PC when your session ends.

In exchange for the University of Kansas providing services in an attempt to diagnose and fix your computer /phone / device problems, you agree to hold the University of Kansas and any of its employees harmless and release them from all liability for any damage that may occur to your computer / device / phone or any of its components, or for loss or damage to the data and programs stored on your computer / device / phone, in the performance of the service.

Mobile device users: The software that you are requesting to download is subject to U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Once installed, this software will remain on your smart device unless you take steps to remove it. An export license from the Department of Commerce Bureau of Industry and Security (DOC BIS) may be required to export or re-export the software, or your smart device with the software installed, outside of the United States. You may not, without a license or License Exception authorized under part 746 of the EAR, export or re-export the software to a country that is embargoed by the United States or otherwise made subject to controls as both are described at part 746 of the EAR.

The University of Kansas recommends that you take steps to remove the software from your device immediately following your consultation. Upon request, IT consultants will do their best to guide you through the process if they have experience with your make and model of device. However, it is ultimately your responsibility to ensure that the software is removed before the device is taken or sent abroad, or given to a person who will take it abroad, to prohibited countries without prior authorization from the DOC BIS.

I have read the terms above and agree to take steps to ensure the software is not intentionally or unintentionally exported or re-exported in violation of U.S. Export Administration Regulations.
