There are legitimate reasons for concern if Amendment 2 passes. Some studies show raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour would cost jobs. Other studies dispute that. Whichever you believe, there's no doubt Florida has neglected its low-income population. Orlando's tourism-loving economy is especially cruel. Amendment 2 would do far more good than harm here, so we are endorsing it.

Incumbent Joel Greenberg withdrew from the race for Seminole County Tax Collector after being charged with stalking and identity theft against one of his opponents, Brian Beute. It was the final straw in a barn full of misdeeds. Both Beute or J.R. Kroll vow to get the office in order, but Kroll's business experience makes him the better choice to replace Greenberg.

Deborah Barra, Monique Worrell, Belvin Perry and Ryan Williams are all well qualified and present compelling cases. But Barra, the chief assistant state attorney, is best positioned to continue Ayala's positive reforms in a smoother, more transparent manner.
