Premiere: Duo Xuitcasecity Brings Summer Loving Vibes On 'Lead Me On'

"Lead Me On" is all about courting that special girl.

Through electro-pop pulsating beats, the Florida-bred duo of Xuitcasecity are serenading a special young lady in efforts to court her on their latest single, “Lead Me On.” The song sounds like the perfect summer anthem, which at first listen, reminds you of tanned skin, sunny beaches and bright orange drinks.

The boys of Xuitcasecity, Mike Gomes and Cam Young, first came up with the concept of the song a few summers ago in relation to their experiences. “We actually recorded this song a few summers ago. It was a reflection of the current vibe we were feeling. Being out in the Hamptons for the first time.. away from home and feeling that first glimpse of what it’s like to be caught up in the life," they told VIBE via email. "Girls were leading us on and showing us more attention than we were used to.”

Xuitcasecity nurtured their talents while living in Tampa, Florida. The group formed after Cam reached out to Mike on Facebook in efforts to collaborate on a song together. After weeks passed, mike eventually responded, and as they say, the rest has been history. You can listen to their new EP, CXTY NIGHTS EP on here.

TOBi Sings About The "City Blues" In New Video

If anything is clear, TOBi carries the weight of the world on his shoulders in his newest single "City Blues," a hard-hitting yet gentle track that provided commentary for tough subjects.

With a cadence similar to Anderson .Paak and J.I.D., the 25-year-old mirrors a young Kendrick Lamar with a melodic flow used to touch on feminism, homelessness, inner-city living, and police brutality. His bars are lined by the Free n Losh-produced track.

"Mama working like there was two of her/Can't let this muthaf**king 9-5, 10-8 ruin her/Meanwhile I’m jumping thru the hoops of dodging daily news and being in groups with young dudes who moving tough/Now she stressing and thinking her baby doing drugs," he raps, reminiscing about the hard-working mothers that provide for their children.

The Edward T. Liguori-directed accompanying visual features the emcee singing alone in a subway, and the shots change as TOBi goes through a urban city where clips of his life can be seen. Watch TOBi perform his new single "City Blues" above.

Elle Varner Taps Wale For "Pour Me" Single

Elle Varner brought in the New Year with the new single, "Pour Me" featuring Wale. Hitting streaming services on a lovely Friday morning (Jan. 18), the lovesick boozy bop piggybacks off the success of her September release, "Loving You Is Blind."

With an assist from Washington D.C.'s very own, the "Bad" emcee heads the single with his love-drunk rendition of sexual frustration, riding over the well-placed piano keys and 808s. Varner's voice dominates the track with the healthy mix of rasp she has become known for.

"Pour me one more One more, one more, one more/I'm thinkin' 'bout you, drinkin' 'bout you/All night for sure/Pour me one more/One more, one more, one more/I'm thinkin' 'bout you, been drinkin' 'bout you," she sings.

Speaking with RatedR&B in December 2018, the "Refill" songstress revealed her new single was a "double entendre about being a poor girl who's lost the love she wants. So, pour her another,” she continued. “It has that ’90s feel. It has these hard drums and chords that are just so tickling. It’s me on a thousand.”
