Final broadcast primetime live + same-day ratings for Sunday, March 12, 2017

Thanks to the Nielsen power outage and the delays it caused, we may just publish final ratings until we’re caught up (pending availability of fast nationals). Here are Sunday’s numbers.

NBC’s “Chicago Justice” was the top scripted show on broadcast Sunday with a 1.2 rating among adults 18-49. That was off 0.2 from its Sunday debut the previous week and down 0.1 from its Tuesday, March 7 episode. “Little Big Shots” was No. 1 overall with a 1.7, down from 2.0 for its premiere. “Shades of Blue” (0.9) dipped a tenth of a point.

The Season 3 premiere of “American Crime” managed only a 0.5 for ABC, a series low and down a good amount from its 0.9 average last season. “Once Upon a Time” (0.9) matched its prior rating, and “Time After Time” (0.6) fell a tenth.

“Family Guy” (1.1) and “The Last Man on Earth” (0.9) each slid a tenth, and “Making History” fell 0.2 to 0.7. “Bob’s Burgers” and “The Simpsons” were steady. “NCIS: Los Angeles” dropped two tenths to a 1.1 on CBS; “Madam Secretary” and “Elementary” held their previous ratings.

Definitions:
Rating
: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.
Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings are available at approximately 11 a.m. ET the day after telecast. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns.
Share (of Audience):
The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time.
Time Shifted Viewing:
Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live +Same-Day and Live +7 Day. Time-shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+SD includes viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3 a.m. local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live +7 ratings include  viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.
