Dylan McDermott has been set as the lead in Fox’s comedy pilot “LA > Vegas.” Produced by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay’s Gary Sanchez Productions, “LA > Vegas” is set on the Friday night flight from LAX to Vegas and the returning flight on Sunday. With less than one month until the Season 24 premiere of “Dancing With the Stars,” ABC is setting the new cast of celebrity contestants.
Nancy Kerrigan will compete on the upcoming season, along with a member of Fifth Harmony, a source tells Variety. Our insider also tells us that “The Bachelor” Nick Viall will more-than-likely be a contestant.
Mr. T. and Simone Biles will also compete on Season 24, our source says, confirming the participation of the wrestler and Olympic gymnast, who was courted to dance on the competition series last year, but was unable to due to scheduling. (Her Rio teammate Laurie Hernandez competed and won last season).

USA Network has landed three in-demand leading men for its Tupac murder drama pilot Unsolved.
Set to star in the pilot are Josh Duhamel (11.22.63), Westworld breakout Jimmi Simpson and Fargo favorite Bokeem Woodbine, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. All three actors had been receiving multiple offers for broadcast dramas this pilot season.
Unsolved is a true-crime serialized drama that chronicles the two major police investigations into the slayings of Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls. The drama hails from People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story Emmy winner Anthony Hemmingway.

“The Get Down” got people up out of their seats when it debuted on Netflix last summer, but the new teaser trailer promises we haven’t seen anything yet. Come April 7, when the second half of Season 1 debuts, Baz Luhrmann and The Get Down Brothers are going to drop some “major league” music on us.

The initial six episodes of “The Get Down” premiered in August 2016, earning largely positive reviews overall (and a rave from IndieWire). Starring Jimmy Smits, Giancarlo Esposito, Justice Smith, Shameik Moore, Herizen F. Guardiola, and Jaden Smith, the first half of Season 1 tracked the rise of a hip-hop supergroup — The Get Down Brothers — formed in the Bronx during the summer of 1977. Simultaneously, Mylene Cruz (Guardiola) gained prominence on her own… with a bit of help from the group’s leader, Books (Justice Smith), and the two shared a steamy romance.
Netflix provided the following synopsis for the second half of Season 1: “Part Two of ‘The Get Down’ picks up in 1978, one year after the events of Part One. The sweeping upheaval of late ’70s New York City finds an as-yet-unnamed new pop cultural force striking a new beat in the Bronx, while disco still reigns supreme. Starz’s “American Gods” adaptation will premiere on April 30, the premium cable network announced Thursday. Let there be no more doubt about the lack of interest in CBS’ “Doubt.” Wednesday’s second episode of the Laverne Cox legal drama dropped 25 percent in TV ratings from last week’s poor premiere. That decline can be seen in both the key 18-49 demographic and among total viewers.

Fox News contributor and commentator Alan Colmes has died after a brief illness. He was 66.
America’s Newsroom co-anchor Bill Hemmer announced the news during Thursday’s broadcast of the Fox program.
“We have, yet again, some sad news to report here at the Fox News Channel,” said Hemmer. “Fox News contributor and frequent guest here in America’s Newsroom, Alan Colmes, has passed away.”
Colmes is survived by his wife, Jocelyn Crowley, who issued the following statement to the network:

I will admit that this Superstore episode didn’t start out so great.
