Training is an integral part of the NICHD intramural program. A dedicated group of investigators and staff maintain a variety of programs designed to enrich the learning experience of all trainees.

Training in the DIR
The Division of Intramural Research (DIR) conducts research to seek fundamental knowledge about the nature and behavior of living systems through basic, clinical, and population-based research.

Training in the DIPHR
The Division of Intramural Population Health Research (DIPHR) investigators design research initiatives that respond to critical data gaps to advance our understanding of factors that affect human health. The DIPHR training program incorporates awards and programs for postbaccalaureate, predoctoral, and postdoctoral fellows and for summer interns.
