Thanks. Pity, built-in ND is quite useful.

@Lan Kasu Those are exactly the points I am complaining on A7S2. A7S2 FF 4K uses decade old line-skipping and produces footage of inferior quality to its own crop 4K working in 1:1 read out....

They are very likely of same process gen but vastly different sensor. Apart from the 24MP, filter array, PDAF pixel pattern etc, are all very different.

Video voodoo from Sony again! Buuuuuuut, who can tell me where the heck does A7S2 sit on the line-up? So only for people who stalk at night and shoot FHD video in the process?

1DX2 looks a powerful hybrid workhorse. I wish the 4K works in over-sampling and 5D4 can inherit it. Full pro body is just toooooo heavy for me. I sold my D3s since I couldn't bear it...

@Mike Sandman Well, the equity market does not work as camera-lovers want. The normally-functioning stock market trade on the expectation of the companies, so is the yield of investment. For your...

Panda is kinda the name card for Chengdu now. There is a breeding research base just outside the city. It is a now a huge tourist attraction. Another larger research center is in Ya'an, about 3hr...

@Antisthenes Indeed, many factors come into play. However, "all things right" + robust mechanical structure vs. "all things right" + poor mechanical structure, I will always vote for the robust...

No matter how much you or me liked it to be, the report is still negative from an investors' view. Cameras as DPR readers like, ILC/SLR/bridge etc., will eventually reduce to a niche market. The...

I am not against the art mode. Why does it have to be on the front dial? I can do with a customize-able dial that are defaulted to art mode. At least I can get it to do something important enough...

who the h* approved to waste the front dial to art mode ??? ugly and not a bit useful

The center alignment of the Sony lens depends on the rails being strictly parallel, which consist of rails connected by the barrel piece. This is much more vulnerable than a single-piece metal...

I like them selling cheap. But I do hate them being cheaply made. Oh well, sucking up to the real world. :)

Spec question to DP staff or anyone who can confirm: does X70 have built-in ND filter? I cannot find ND on X70 spec sheet but it is not listed on X100s spec sheet either. I own X100s and it does...

@darngooddesign Those are for adapting full frame SLR lens onto smaller sensor mirror-less body. The trick hides in the difference of flange distance, which gives space for the optics in the...

Oh my god. I want it. I actually want it in a X100 package. Built them into 2 versions: X650 with normal field of view, X620 with a ultrawide field of view (thiking 21mm on 35mm system). They...
-
@darngooddesign I know and I actually tried. But the problem is I cannot get the same feel with the lenses. I used to make quite some happy photos with 28m @F2. The same combination of...

The lens choice doesn't make sense. This thing would sell much better if Leica gives it a 21mm equiv. lens. It would be much more useful in water and worth carrying on land. Don't worry about the...

@NickyB66 Oh no. X system works quite fine as APS now. Actually I want it quite bad. I have X100s and love the pictures out of it. The color rendition and perceived resolution is second to none....

Oh well, if only it is a full-framer.
