Facial Recognition
Know what IMDb needs? Well, let me start by saying this, there's always a moment when you're watching a movie and you think to yourself, "That actor/actress looks so familiar" Which is the whole purpose of IMDb right? We go on and look up the movie and look at the cast list and then click on the actor's/actress' name and see what other movies or shows they're in and then we're always like "Oh right! That's what I know them from!" Or do we? You see, every once in a while, we go they this whole process and say, "No, I don't recognize them from any of these movies or shows." And the reasoning is because even though the actor/actress LOOKS familiar like you know them, sometimes (actually, a LOT of times), they just look really similar to another actor that you are thinking of. Great examples are the Baldwin Brothers or Maia Mitchell and Bailee Madison! So what I suggest is that IMDb come up with a program or a sidebar of sorts called, "People You May Be Thinking Of" and it would have other actors/actresses listed with their faces shown so you could look at other actors/actresses that (like the title would say) you would be thinking of!
Also, IMDb should have a program where you allow them access to your phone camera and can scan an actor/actress' face that you're watching and then IMDb would point you directly to their page!
Great if you want to be in the know while on the go!
I use IMDB several times a day! Perfect for those times when you're in a hurry, or in a waiting room at the doctors office. I also will open this up, before I rent or buy a movie especially a movie that I never heard of. I always look at the top news of the day or watch new movie or tv trailers. I can't think of another source, whether it be online or not, that is this expansive in all things entertainment. That being said, I would really love to see them add in a way to search out genre movies easier. For example, you can't type in vampire movies and expect a full list of every vampire films to be displayed. It will only pull up a movie or tv show with vampire in the title. I would also like to see them add in a list of people's favorite movies and/or a countdown list of favorite genre movies or tv shows. To be honest, I am surprised they never have, but nobody's perfect and I definitely have found more pros than cons.
There needs to be an ad free IMdB!!!
I would gladly pay between $3.99-$5.00 to be able to read articles in peace!!! Just to let you know, when you want to read the rest of the articles in news, it is just a blank page. Not liking IMDb right now... IMDb needs a major software update!! You can't get through a secondary article once you have read the main one you've read. It kicks you out & goes back to the main article a few pages through the secondary article. Still would love an ads free version too!!
