Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” Jennifer Lawrence’s “Joy” and the first season of “Empire” are among the nominees for the 18th Costume Designers Guild Awards.

The winners of the seven competitive awards will be revealed in a ceremoy on Feb. 23 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

“Beasts of No Nation,” “Joy,” “Kingsman: The Secret Service,” “The Martian” and “Youth” received nominations for contemporary film.

Period film nods went to “Brooklyn,” “Carol,” “Crimson Peak” “The Danish Girl” and “Trumbo.” “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” took a nomination in the fantasy film category, along with “Cinderella,” “Ex Machina,” “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2” (another Lawrence-starrer) and “Mad Max: Fury Road.”

Sandy Powell received nominations for “Carol” and “Cinderella.” Both star Cate Blanchett, who will received the guild’s spotlight award.

“Empire” scored a nom in contemporary TV series with “American Horror Story: Hotel,” “House of Cards,” “Ray Donovan” and “Transparent.” Meanwhile, “The Knick,” “Mad Men,” “Masters of Sex,” “Outlander” and “Penny Dreadful” are up for the period TV award.

“Game of Thrones,” “Once Upon a Time,” the second and third seasons of “Sleepy Hollow” and “The Wiz Live!” make up the fantasy TV category.
