Trivia

Squirtle is derived from the words "squirt" and "turtle" because it can squirt water from its mouth, and it has the shell of a turtle. However, it is also arguable that its name came from the word "squirrel" as well, as Squirtle's tail bares a striking resemblance to that of a squirrel.

Classification: Water Pokémon

Squirtle is also strong against Ice and Steel type Pokémon.
