Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nation Urban Development and Initiatives

The Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations created the Urban Development office which has been in operation since 1995, previously providing services and now the Urban Development office only provides through the Intergovernmental Relation Protocol Agreement signed October 26, 2007, at the fall Chief Assembly. The official Urban Development mandate will be to;  advocate, coordinate and facilitate meetings with stakeholders and will act as a liaison between First Nations, Tribal/Agencies/Grand Council and Provincial and Federal with Municipal governments and with in the FSIN Secretariats.

Through the FSIN legislation the Urban Development Office has also been mandated to develop an Urban Development Committee, the committee will develop a Terms of Reference with a meeting schedule for review and development of policies that relates to Urban First Nation membership.

On January 21, 2009 that the Health and Social Development Commission Chief's support the Urban Development file and will report through the Health and Social Development Commission.
