Avengers: Age of Ultron” audiences don’t need to stick around too long after the credits start rolling, unless they’re genuinely interested in seeing who did what on the Marvel production. Both director Joss Whedon and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige have said there will be no post-credits scene. Or at least not one as satisfying as the shawarma chow down at the end of the highly anticipated sequel’s 2012 predecessor. “There will be a tag, but there’s not a post-post-credit scene,” Feige told Entertainment Weekly. All Your Tweets Have Cost Idris Elba the Role of James Bond

19 hours ago | Vulture | See recent Vulture news »

The internet won't stop talking about Idris Elba playing James Bond, and Idris Elba is sick of it. "Honestly, it's a rumor that's really starting to eat itself," he said during an appearance at the British Film Institute on Tuesday. Elba maintained that the overwhelming public interest in his casting has made it an impossible dream: "If there was ever any chance of me getting Bond, it’s gone." Still, though, you shouldn't beat yourself up too much for sharing all those listicles; you've just been an unwitting pawn of the true mastermind, who has been hidden inside Mi-6 all along. "Daniel Craig actually set the rumor off," he recalled. "About four years ago, he said, 'Idris Elba would be a great Bond,' and then it started to creep. I blame Daniel." »

Tom Cruise’s 10 Greatest Movie Stunts, Reviewed by a Stuntman

17 hours ago | Vulture | See recent Vulture news »

When the trailer for the new Mission: Impossible film landed last month, it seemed all anybody could talk about was the stunt of Tom Cruise hanging off an airplane. And with good reason — ever since the first Mission: Impossible movie, Tom Cruise films have featured more and more daring stunts, often performed by the actor himself. Impressive stuff, to be sure. But what do real stuntmen think of Tom Cruise’s stunts? To get a professional’s opinion, we turned to Randy Butcher, a veteran Canadian stuntman, stunt coordinator, and director who is currently the stunt coordinator for Orphan Black and has worked on a variety of films, including X-Men, Dawn of the Dead, K-19: The Widowmaker, and countless others. He took a look at some of Cruise’s best-known and most impressive stunts, and offered his take on how they might have been done — and whether that really is »

'22 Jump Street' Fake Sequels Will Be "Canon" For '23 Jump Street' Says Phil Lord & Chris Miller

18 hours ago | The Playlist | See recent The Playlist news »

Despite seemingly blowing up – and taking the piss out of – any notions of a straight sequel in the end credits of “22 Jump Street,” Phil Lord and Chris Miller now have the unenviable task of actually making a “23 Jump Street.” Just how will they do this? Pull a Neill Blomkamp and ignore the end credit sequence? No, they’ll do it by doubling down on their last-minute joke. Slashfilm reports (via Topless Robot) that the directing duo will hold true to the mythology of the “Jump Street” universe and count the string of outlandish sequels glimpsed during the end credits of “22 Jump Street” part of the series. “We’ve found a way that we love that makes those imagined sequels canonical and yet does something that we haven’t told you about yet,” Lord said. “The sequels are canon.” Yes, within the context of the world of Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum’s Schmidt and Jenko, »

On Wednesday, an anonymous user created an Indiegogo campaign to raise money for Michael Slager, the South Carolina police officer charged with murder Tuesday after fatally shooting Walter Scott, a 50-year-old black man, in the back as he was running away. A social media campaign has gained momentum against Indiegogo, with people on Facebook and Twitter urging the crowdfunding service to delete the campaign. Some critics are calling for a boycott against Indiegogo and are sharing the above image on social media. In response, the company issued the following statement: "Indiegogo allows anyone, anywhere to fund ideas that matter to them and just like other open platforms -- such as Facebook, YouTube and Twitter -- we don't judge the content of campaigns as long as they are in compliance with our Terms of Use." As of Wednesday night, the campaign had raised less than $200 towards its $5,000 goal. Earlier in the day, »

Disney developing live-action adaptation of Pinocchio

4 hours ago | Digital Spy | See recent Digital Spy - Movie News news »

Disney is turning its attention to Pinocchio as its next live-action adaptation.

According to Deadline, Peter Hedges is writing up a movie loosely based on the original Pinocchio tale.

The story focuses on the relationship between a father and a son, exploring the consequences of lying and making things up.

Pinocchio is the latest in a growing number of live-action remakes by Disney, following Jungle Book next year and Beauty and the Beast in 2017.

Disney also plans to give Winnie the Pooh, Mulan and Dumbo the same treatment, in pursuit of similar success to Maleficent, Cinderella and Alice in Wonderland.

However, the children's entertainment giant is not alone in redeveloping Pinocchio. Guillermo del Toro plans to produce and co-direct a darker take on Carlo Collodi's 1883 novel The Adventures Of Pinocchio.

Disney's animated version of Pinocchio was released in 1940. »
