Erika Flores is happy to be home.
She's a small-town girl who grew up in Kearny, Ariz., a mining town in eastern Pinal County.
She watched the local news with her dad every night, which is what inspired Erika to become a reporter.
She's always been a strong believer in fighting for people's rights and hopes to make a difference in the world with her work.
Before coming to 3TV, Erika worked in Tucson at KVOA. She reported on anything from mental illness to immigration and crime.
While there, she received the 2013 Mark Twain Award for Best Spot News Story.
Before reporting in Tucson, Erika worked in Deep South Texas where she concentrated on border issues.
Erika studied at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University majoring in mass communications and journalism. She also graduated with a degree in sociology from ASU.
She is bilingual and helped launch a Spanish newscast at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism.
Erika has experience as an anchor, weather forecaster, reporter and producer.
Prior to working in television, Erika worked for newspapers in both Pinal and Maricopa Counties.
While her passion is storytelling, she loves to kick up her heels and dance, as well as travel in her free time.
