Meteorologist Kim Quintero joined 3TV in February 2013.
You can catch her weekends on "Good Morning! Arizona," 7 a.m.-10 a.m., "Good Evening! Arizona" at 5 p.m. and "3TV News @ 9."
As a self-proclaimed sun-worshiper, Kim is excited to call the Valley of the Sun home.
Kim moved to Arizona from South Carolina. There, she reported live from the Carolina coastline as Superstorm Sandy and Hurricane Irene moved through. When an EF 2 tornado damaged homes and injured 10 people in North Carolina, Kim covered the destruction. As a rare and historic winter storm dumped 6 inches of snow in the Upstate, Kim provided updates on conditions from the field. And when South Carolina reached their hottest temperature ever recorded, Kim sweated it out as she reported on how people were coping.
From severe thunderstorms, to freezing rain, straight-line winds, and hail storms, Kim has tracked and forecasted almost everything Mother Nature can dish out.
Before the Southeast, Kim lived in the Pacific Northwest and called Eugene, Ore. home. There, she reported and forecasted for the Willamette Valley, the Cascades and the Oregon Coast.
Kim has been honored with a number of awards from the Associated Press, including Best Investigative Reporting for her in-depth series on how prepared government agencies would be to respond should "the big one," a magnitude 9.0 earthquake, strike the Pacific Northwest.
Kim was born and raised in Fresno, Calif. After earning a BA in Mass Communication and Journalism from Fresno State, she launched her career at a TV station in her hometown. She later went on to complete the Geosciences Broadcast Meteorology Program at Mississippi State.
Kim is an avid runner, enjoys exploring the outdoors, traveling and cooking.
