Malo, formerly St. Bartholomew Island, island of Vanuatu, in the southwestern Pacific Ocean, 3 miles (5 km) south of Espiritu Santo. Volcanic in origin, it has a circumference of 34 miles (55 km) and occupies an area of about 70 square miles (180 square km). Its highest point is Malo Peak, which reaches an elevation of 1,070 feet (326 metres). Almost all the land is cultivable, and copra and cocoa are produced on plantations.
