Certificates in Human Resources Law.

Division of Online Learning

Our online Human Resources Certificate is designed for human resources professionals seeking to enhance their knowledge of the legal environment that influences so much of their day-to-day activities. While not intended to substitute for legal advice, the various offerings provide the information necessary to appreciate the sometimes complex legal doctrines that operate in this area and allow human resources professionals and/or management to interact more effectively with their legal and compliance counterparts in the workplace.

Certificates offered are:

  1. Core Legal Issues in the Workplace
  2. Conducting Legal Investigations in the Modern Workplace
  3. Managing Whistleblower Risks

Materials for the certificate programs are drawn from statutory and regulatory texts, judicial decisions, and expert commentary. Through a series of multimedia presentations, guided discussions and individually supervised writing projects, students learn to interpret legal documents and assess their practical implications for human resources and compliance professionals.

All of our HR courses online offer intensive, individualized feedback, as well as an opportunity to develop the practical skills necessary to research and communicate effectively about the law.

You can take any or all of the certificate programs, in any order you choose. Upon successful completion of each program, you will receive a Certificate in Human Resources Law indicating the name of the program you completed. An Advanced Certificate in Human Resources Law will be awarded upon completion of three certificates.

Up to six credits earned in the graduate certificate program can be applied towards the Master of Science in Jurisprudence degree.
