How to connect to Ustream Chats with xChat
- Download XChat or the free GPL version of XChat
- Open XChat and select three nick names you would like to be known as.
Important Tip: If you haven't already done so, we strongly suggest you register your chosen nick name on Ustream by creating a free Ustream account. If you don't register the nick name, someone else might do so and this would prevent you from continuing to use it in the future. - Click Add, from here add the name of the server that you would like for it to be known as. For example, you may name it Ustream and then click Edit and put the server Address in the Servers field for Ustream. The server address can be either c.ustream.tv or chat1.ustream.tv
- Now you will move down a little and put in the channels. To automatically join the help channel put #help in the channels field. To join more than one channel separate each room with a comma (ex. #help,#roomgoeshere,#anotherroom and so forth.)
- Click close and save your preferred settings then select the Ustream server and click Connect.
- You will then be presented with a login screen if you have selected a registered nick name. Type "/pass yourpassgoeshere" and you will join the channels you have selected to join.
