Malawi diplomatic missions abroad represent the country’s national  interests both on a residential and non-residential basis. Currently Malawi has 15 resident Diplomatic Missions abroad and one Consulate.  Recently, Government directed the establishment of a new resident Diplomatic Mission in Brazil. 

The Malawi Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany is also accredited on non-residential basis to Austria, Beralus, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovak Republic, Switzerland, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and the Holy See (Vatican).

The Malawi High Commissioner to the United Kingdom is also accredited on non-residential basis to Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Ireland, Portugal, Norway, Spain and Sweden.

The Malawi Ambassador to Belgium is also accredited on non-residential basis to the Commission of the European Communities Luxembourg, Netherlands, Italy, France, UNESCO, Greece, Cyprus, Malta and Switzerland.

The Malawi Ambassador to Egypt is also accredited on non-residential basis to the State of Israel, Iran, Kuwait, Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Palestine Saudi Arabia, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, SDR, Morocco and Bahrain.

The Malawi High Commissioner to the Republic of Mozambique is also accredited on non-residential basis to the Kingdom of Swaziland, and Madagascar

The Malawi High Commissioner to the Republic of South Africa is also accredited on non-residential basis to Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia and SADC

The Malawi High Commissioner to the United Republic of Tanzania is also accredited on non-residential basis to Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, India, Pakistan, UNEP & UNCHS (Habitat), Kenya, Sri Lanka and the Seychelles.

The Malawi High Commissioner to the Republic of Zambia is also accredited on non-residential basis to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), and the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA).

The Malawi Ambassador to the Republic of Zimbabwe is also accredited on non-residential basis to Mauritius

The Malawi Ambassador to Ethiopia is also accredited to the African Union (AU), the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Ghana, ECA, Liberia, Cameroon, Republic of Guinea and Eritrea.

The Malawi Ambassador to the United States of America is also accredited on non-residential basis to Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, Canada, Cuba and Mexico.

The Malawi Ambassador to Japan is also accredited on non-residential basis to Malaysia, South Korea, North Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand and Brunei.
