Clear Channel Communication's Little Rock Fox affiliate might be laying early groundwork for a news operation.
Chuck Spohn, vice president and general manager of KLRT-TV, Channel 16, and its sister station KASNTV, Channel 38, calls this fall's "Foxfirst Weather" segments a step in that direction, but added that the station wouldn't be doing news in at least the next 10 to 12 months.
We're definitely not doing news in the very near future...," he said. "But it's a good start. People always ask us [if we'll do news], and one of the primary parts of news that people like is weather, so it's a good start."
