The plot was very interesting, and I think this is a must read for urban fantasy lovers. The story line is not really unique, but I think the details and the different elements that the author used to build up the story, really made it her own.

The author has a real gift with words. Her descriptions are amazing, almost poetic. However, she does have an issue with characterization. I had a hard time being emotionally invested in the fate of the characters. You knew who they were, knew the story, but just didn't really connect. It could've been better, but as it stands, it was very good.

Wow hands down a great read. This author writes very poetically. She has a way of elegantly and colorfully describing the scenes. She also does an excellent job of poetically describing what the characters are feeling. Here's an exert: "She had forgotten sweetness, had forgotten what it was like to be touched and held and cherished, and it opened something in her, it melted her like sunlight on snow." Wow, I couldn't help but fall in love with her writing. Her characters are written with passion and you can't help but get swept up into the storyline.

Jenna is a strong willed character but yet you see her vulnerabilities. The author does a great job with drawing you into Jenna's emotions. When she's in pain, you feel her pain and when she stands strong and determined, you can't help but cheer her on. Of coarse the hero, Leander, is strong, handsome and mysterious. You get wrap up into his choices. You are rooting for him to get the girl then you are angry at him for being an idiot. It's an emotional roller coaster. You can't help but fall in love with him.

I stayed up into the wee hours of morning unable to put the book down. It was glued to my hands. I even shed some tears. It's been a while since I've read a book that had me so emotionally invested that I was sad to see it end. I sure hope Ms. Geissinger writes more stories of the Ikati. I want to read about the future changes the Ikati will face. I'd even like to see the characters, Morgan and Christian, get their own books.

If you love paranormal romance with some mystery and adventure and characters that seem to leap off the page and pull you in, then I highly recommended Shadows' Edge!

Jenna Moore spent her childhood on the run with her parents who always seemed to look back over their shoulders. She never knew why they hid only her mom became an alcoholic of sorts and her dad seemed always frightened by the shadows. Now she has neither of them as her mom died and her dad vanished and she presumes he is dead too. Never alone before, the scared young woman also is confused by her recent paranormal abilities.

In the forests of England, the Ikati shapeshifters survive in secrecy by deploying a strict code of behavior; those who betray the law die. They recently learned that an offspring of traitors lives in California. Their chieftain Leander McLoughlin heads to the American Pacific West Coast to either kill the "innocent" as most of the tribe prefer or bring her to her people to test whether she can be educated in their customs. When they meet, they are attracted to each other, but she is a chip off the paranoid block of her parents and trusts no one; while he considers invoking the death penalty. Meanwhile in the shadows hides a stalker waiting to pounce on Leander and Jenna.

The first A Night Prowler romantic urban fantasy is an engaging romantic urban fantasy filled with suspense as readers will wonder whether Leander can execute his beloved. The affected dialect of the Ikati anchors the Geissinger mythos with a freshness that needs some adjustment to accept from the audience. The conflict boils down to assimilation as Jenna's DNA may be Ikati but her nurturing is American while a third party waits to pounce. Fans will enjoy this exciting paranormal romantic suspense.

J.T. Geissinger
A life-long lover of reading and a self-professed "book addict," J.T. Geissinger didn't realize her dream of writing a novel until a milestone birthday forced her to take stock of her goals in life. Always believing the right time to commit to putting pen to paper would magically announce itself, it took waking up one cold January morning with a shiny new zero as the second number in her age to kick start her determination.

Starting on that very day, she wrote what would become Shadow's Edge in a little over four months and submitted it to several literary agents. Nothing happened. Thinking that was the end of that but by no means willing to give up on her dreams of being published, she began work on a second manuscript.

Then, during a trip to Italy in honor of their 10th wedding anniversary and the honeymoon she and her husband never took, she received an email that would change her life. It was from an agent, Marlene Stringer of Stringer Literary, and it contained the three words every aspiring author longs to hear: "I loved it."

Marlene sold the manuscript, initially titled The Skinwalker's Daughter, to Montlake Romance who published it six months later. Hitting the #1 Amazon bestseller lists for Fantasy Romance in both the US and the UK within weeks of publication, Shadow's Edge is the culmination of the refusal to give up (some would say grow up) with the staunch belief that all good things come to those who wait, and sometimes to those who wait longest.
