The ten-part web series sprang from director Kevin Tancharoen's concept trailer for Mortal Kombat: Rebirth, a gritty re-imagining of the franchise characters in a real-world police procedural setting.
Written by Tancharoen and Spartacus: Blood and Sand writers Todd and Aaron Helbing and starring Michael Jai White, Jeri Ryan and Ian Anthony Dale, the series will mainly follow Scorpion, tasked by Jax and Sonya enter the underground tournament and bring down Shang Tsung, amidst his own personal vendetta against Sub-Zero (and get your first look at the ice-cold ninja here!)
Also rumored to be appearing in the series as well are Durak, Kabal, Kitana, Mileena, and possibly even Shao Khan. Check it out below!
