Hunger Games

Three days in and five new competitors later, MTV Movie Brawl 2012 still rages strong. "Hunger Games" and "Twilight" fans continue slugging it out to give their champion of choice the most steam heading into next week's March Madness-style bracket tournament, but there's fierce competition between many of the other movies as well.

Our preview of the tournament continues today with a look at one of the Brawl's clearest front-runners, a glimpse at Taylor Kitsch and some other hot models, and a salute to Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

Magic Mike

If you ever wondered what a Steven Soderbergh stripper movie might look like (and come on, I know I'm not the only one out there who's wondered about that) well, wonder no more.

The Academy Award-winning director's upcoming film about hot dudes who take their clothes off for money — "Magic Mike," perhaps better known as the "Channing Tatum and other shirtless Hollywood hunks" movie — has released its first still, showing stars Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Joe Manganiello and Matthew McConaughey showing off their, ah, patriotism on stage.

Russell CroweDo you hear the people sing? Singing the song of Russell Crowe?

Well, you'll certainly be hearing his singing voice in full force come December 2012, as the Oscar winning actor has been cast as fugitive hunter Javert in Tom Hooper's "Les Miserables." Crowe is in talks to star opposite Hugh Jackman in the musical adaptation, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Additionally, the always creepy Helena Bonham Carter has been tapped to join the cast as Madame Thenardier, who sings the best line by far in "Master of the House." Great casting all around!

Olivia MunnOlivia Munn is the latest leading lady to join the cast of Steven Soderbergh's "Magic Mike."

The testosterone-heavy cast tells the story of a veteran exotic dancer (Channing Tatum) and his protégé (Alex Pettyfer). Deadline has the news that Munn will play Amber, the love interest of Tatum's Magic Mike. The cast also includes Matthew McConaughey, Joe Manianello, Matthew Bomber, Cody Horn and Riley Keough. "Magic Mike" is based on some of Tatum's real-life experiences as a male stripper.

Taylor LautnerIs Taylor Lautner about to become expendable? That's certainly what the latest casting rumor for "The Expendables 2" would have us believe.

The folks over at Moviehole report that Lautner is one of several action stars that is being looked at to star in the upcoming sequel. Apparently the offer hasn't gone out to the "Abduction" star yet, but he is allegedly high up on the list of actors that Lionsgate wants for the film.

Also on the list are Christopher Lambert, Nicolas Cage and Christian Slater, as well as the previously rumored John Travolta, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Chuck Norris. It certainly would be interesting to see up-and-coming action hero Lautner facing off against some of the baddest dudes around.

ASkarsHot off the heels of "Battleship," Alexander Skarsgard is lining up plenty of new film projects to keep him busy during his "True Blood" off-season.

The latest of these is Brit Marling's thriller "The East," The Hollywood Reporter has learned. The flick follows a female agent who penetrates an eco-terrorist group called The East. THR says that if the deal happens, Skarsgard will play the head of the group who is seeking revenge against unethical corporations.

Johnny KnoxvillePrepare for your comedic worlds to collide: Johnny Knoxville and Patton Oswalt are teaming up for an as-yet untitled comedy.

Deadline has the news that the two funnymen will be starring in a flick to be directed by relative newcomer Todd Rohal. They will play battling brothers who, in an attempt to honor their dying father, take a group of boys on a camping trip...though of course that does not go as planned. The movie also stars Rob Riggle, Maura Tierney and Patrice O'Neal.

Matt BomerMatthew McConaughey and Matt Bomer are the latest two actors to join the stripper flick "Magic Mike."

In addition to those two Hollywood beefcakes, the movie also stars Channing Tatum and Alex Pettyfer. "Magic Mike" is the semi-true story of Channing's time spent as an exotic dancer in Florida. Hollywood Crush has the full scoop on the casting, including McConaughey playing a retired stripper who owns the salon the boys work at and Bomer being a working boy in the group. The flick is being slated for a 2012 release date.

Ashton KutcherWhen it comes to the biggest casting news of the day, don't look towards the big screen; it's the small one in your living room that holds today's hugest surprise.

Ashton Kutcher is officially the man to replace Charlie Sheen on "Two and a Half Men," putting an end to speculation and rumors that have involved the likes of John Stamos, Rob Lowe and Hugh Grant. It's Kutcher's first return to scripted television in a regular role since "That '70s Show," and one has to wonder how the new gig will affect his future as a Hollywood movie star, for better or for worse.
