‘Operation revenge’: 15 abducted FC soldiers brutally tortured, slain
TTP claims responsibility, vows more such violence.

PESHAWAR: Mockingly terming it “a new year gift” and “avenging” a military operation in the Khyber Agency, the Pakistani Taliban brutally murdered 15 kidnapped Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel on Thursday — vowing further such violence.
The bodies – sustaining 40 bullet holes each and signs of torture – were recovered from North Waziristan and the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the killings terming it a “consequence” of the January 1 military operation in Khyber Agency. The security personnel had been in the custody of the militants for over a year – kidnapped on December 22, 2010, when several militants attacked the Mullazai Fort in the Tank district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) bordering South Waziristan.
Officials from North Waziristan told The Express Tribune that the bodies of the security personnel were recovered from Shawa tehsil of North Waziristan. Locals, who wished not to be named, revealed that the bodies were recovered close to a ravine and were horrifically mutilated. The bodies were later shifted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Thall and flown by helicopter to the FC Headquarter in Peshawar.
The TTP, in a statement issued to the media, said that the killings were in retaliation of the January 1 military operation in which Qari Kamran, a top TTP commander, was killed along with 11 other militants. Two women and three children were also recovered in the operation.
“This is revenge for the killing of our comrades in Khyber by Pakistani forces,” Ehsanullah Ehsan, a spokesman for the TTP, told Reuters. “We will soon take revenge for other operations too.”
The Taliban’s statement alleged that there was one woman killed in the operation and others were arrested. “There is no room for such actions in Islam and tribal traditions,” read the statement which called the incident ‘a new year gift’.
“Such actions are unimaginable in a Pakhtun society. Release them or such violence will continue,” said the statement.
The deceased men were identified as Lance Naik Nisar Gul, Ali Ameer Naib Subaidar, Shakeel Gul, Rajid Khan, Muhammad Arif, Khan Talab, Ajeem Khan, Amjid Ali, Tayyab, Riwayat, Uzair Ali, Sabit Khan, Shafiur Rehman, Bacha Khan and Bawar Khan. Eleven of the deceased men belonged to the Mallagori area of Khyber Agency while three were from Shabqadar and one from DI Khan.
While the funeral prayers for 14 of the deceased men were offered at the FC Headquarters in Hayatabad, Peshawar, the body of one of the men was shifted to Dera Ismail Khan.
Senior Minister K-P Bashir Bilour, while speaking to the media, said that the incident came at a time when negotiations were under way
“It’s a reaction to the death of Qari Kamran,” he said. “The government was negotiating terms for the release of these men,” he confirmed.
“These men were brutally shot dead, with 40 bullets each.”
Haji Abdul Manan, the tribal elder of the Mallagori tribe, announced a three-day mourning period in the area. “Our village has not seen so many deaths on a single day,” he told The Express Tribune.

That’s all the ant state cowards can do. Kill innocent people such as children in schools and women in bazaars. It does not surprise me that they would kill helpless paramilitary prisoners. Pakistanis have long learned that these anti state criminals are trying to weaken Pakistan for their foreign masters but now that the Pakistani population is against them, they have become desperate. I am sure the army will give these anti state cowards exemplary justice soon enough. At least all military personal know what these anti state cowards will do to them when they surrender to them. I doubt if the criminals will be kidnapping many more Pak military people.

Very sad. My heart weeps for these and the other 35000 Pakistanis killed by the Taliban butchers. None of their atrocities will rise to a level to make people hate them or our military and political leadership act as decisively against them as they did against NATO and the US. Compare the two incidents (and the one in June/July 2011 when 18 FC soldiers were executed with their arms tied behind their backs, and the barbarian video was released): In one our soldiers get killed, the perpetrators immediately offer regret, investigate the incident, and ensure it will never happen again. Our leadership, especially the militarty strategists, decide to use the opportunity to further isolate Pakistan internationally and put Pakistan’s future on a collision course with the west, the whole nation erupts in protests for the brave soldiers for weeks, the media prepares the nation for an actual war with NATO/US/West. The whole future of the nation is diverted while the ‘adversary’ is constantly saying they did not intend it, and want to continue to work together in dealing with our problems. Contrast this with the other incidents: The soldiers are brutally executed, their dead bodies are desecrated, their massacre videos are released, the perpetrators proudly announce that they did it, and will do it again – and what is the reaction of the nation? Complete silence on media (minor headline number 4 on Tribune, no mention on day 2 on major satellite news channels), no rallies/dharnas or even statements from any of the leading parties, deafening silence by our military/ISI, and total apathy by the general public. Our military planners almost took us to war with a major power over the death of 26 soldiers. What about these 15 soldiers, whose shameless murderers have poked the military in the eye – where is the resolve to defend the nation from its enemies, where is the sanctity of our soldier’s blood? What have these Tailiban done that no matter what they do, we will not rise as one and eliminate them once and for all from every corner of Pakistan? Listening to tapes of intercepted conversations between Taliban fighters in Afghanistan and THEIR MASTERS in the QUETTA SHURA (inside Pakistan), I really wonder why you think Afghanistan is a “safe haven” (with the US Marines hunting down Militants who flee back across the border into SAFE HAVENS IN PAKISTAN)! You should expand your mind and consider that other entities such as KFC, the girl scouts, Walt Disney studios, the Bolivian secret service, the Fuji Islands Glee Club, and the Ever Ready Pink Bunny are all running operations inside Pakistan, disguised as Panda Bears from China!

Its a well known and proven fact that the international secret service agencies you mentioned are really eager to jump to any opportunity to damage the military effort of pakistan to eleminate these unwanted anti state elements from our soil.
