Situated on the beautiful island of Arran, Brodick Castle's history can be traced back as far as the Vikings. The setting is staggering - fronted by the sea, bedecked with gardens, surrounded by hills and overlooked by the majestic mountain of Goatfell.

Imagine what it must have been like to live in this fantastic location, surrounded by fine paintings, antique furniture and precious objects, all of which you can still see today.

At any time of year the gardens are well worth a visit, though especially in spring when the internationally acclaimed rhododendron collection bursts into full bloom. Venture out into the country park and discover wildflower meadows where Highland cows graze, woodland trails and tumbling waterfalls.
Did you know?

There are damp, dank crevices with hanging valleys of mosses, liverworts and ferns
