George Gulick was Named as one of the ten charter members that organized the North Fork Mission Baptist congregation. This church organization had split from the North Fork Primitive Baptist Meetinghouse. The split was over the issues of: should ministers be paid, should music be accompanied, should there be Sunday School, and, should there be missionaries ? These "New Schoolers" built a two story brick church just east of the graveyard separating the two buildings. on 31 January 1835.
