Every year, CLIO reviews the entry system to stay current with changes in the advertising, design and communications industries. This year, with the help of key industry leaders, we have simplified and clarified the entry process.

Here are just a few of the ways we improved the CLIO entry process:


  • Reduced the number of categories (through the elimination of industry verticals)
  • Enhanced the Interactive medium with updated categories such as tablet and mobile apps
  • Combined Billboard and Poster mediums into one medium (Out of Home) and included Ambient and Transit
  • Expanded Public Relations medium to better match the industry
  • Added Technique (Craft) category for the Print and Radio mediums
  • Used recognized terms and language wherever possible.
