A young person can also be screened for STI’s at all of the above and discuss all contraception options.

If a young person thinks they are pregnant because of unprotected sex in the last 72 hours(3 days) they can take Emergency Contraception, also known as the morning after pill to prevent unintended pregnancy. The earlier they take this the more effective it is likely to be.

Space

Space is a Young Parents Group for pregnant young people and teenage parents up to 21 years of age; it is a “drop-in” session at DA Spot-Young Peoples Resource Centre. Space provides an opportunity for young parents and pregnant teenagers to receive support from each other in addition to professionals who can advise on education, training and employment, housing and benefits, childcare, sexual health, maternal health and child development. Young people can just drop in or contact Sophie Richardson on 07985 400 235 for further information.
