Public Parks  

Centennial Park
(315 S Marquette Street) - This 250 acre park is located on the banks of the Mississippi River just west of the Centennial Bridge.  It includes a boat ramp, fishing areas, basketball courts, a playground, restrooms, drinking fountain, a skateboard park, a gazebo, and a dog off leash area.  The Riverfront Parkway also passes through the park.

 

Cork Hill Park
(1100 N. Farnam Street) -  A 6-acre park that includes picnic shelters, ball fields, basketball, volleyball courts, and a playground.

 

Credit Island Nature Preserve
(2200 W. River Drive) - This 450 acre park in southwest Davenport is on an island in the Mississippi River. This remarkable park includes Credit Island Lodge, a boat ramp, 4 reservable picnic shelters, a playground, restrooms, and rugby, soccer, baseball, and softball fields.  This Park is perfect for walking, biking, hiking, boating and fishing.  Credit Island is also popular for eagle watching during the winter months.  (Credit Island Lodge is under remodel.  Call for rental availability.)

Dog Off Leash Park

Duck Creek Park
(3000 E. Locust Street) -  Rolling hills and large trees share the space with 2 reservable picnic shelters, restrooms, tennis courts, a playground and a golf course within this 211 acre park in east Davenport.  Also located within the park is the Stampe Lilac Garden and Gazebo, which is available for weddings. Duck Creek Lodge is in the park as well and is available as indoor event space for 120.  The park provides access to the Duck Creek Parkway.

 

Duck Creek Parkway and Bike Path 
A multiple-use paved trail system, extending from Emeis Park in west Davenport 8.26 miles east to Bettendorf. A second paved trail, Riverfront Parkway, extends 4.75 miles along the Mississippi waterfront from Credit Island to Bettendorf. Both these trails have additional sections in Bettendorf.

 

Eastern Avenue Park
(2900 Eastern Avenue) - 40 acres of park that includes picnic shelters, a restroom, a lagoon, a disc golf course, and access to the Duck Creek Parkway and Bike Path.

 

Emeis Park
(4500 W. Locust Street) -  Located in west Davenport facilities at this 210-acre park include reservable picnic shelters, a playground, restrooms, ball fields, basketball courts and tennis courts.  Emeis golf course, and 18-hole public course is also located within the park.

 

Fejervary Park, Children's Center & Aquatic Center

(1800 W. 12th Street)  This hillside 75 acre park has rolling green grass hills, play equipment, and reservable picnic shelters. An aquatic center is also located in the park. The Children's Center is undergoing renovations for the summer of 2010 and will have limited availability for the public. (There is no longer a zoo at Fejervary Park. It is closed and will NOT reopen).

 

Garfield Park

(1224 E. 29th Street) -  A 32 acre park that includes reservable picnic shelters, ball fields, basketball, tennis and volleyball courts and access to the Duck Creek Parkway and Bike Path.

 

Glen Armil Park

(2355 Lillie Ave) - This 3 acre park features picnic shelters, ball fields, basketball court and playground equipment for children.

Goose Creek Park

(6000 Scott Street)  - 28 acres of park which features picnic shelters, a ball field and playground equipment for children.

 

Green Acres Park

(2210 W 53rd St) -  A 5 acre park that includes basketball courts, ball fields, playground equipment and picnic shelters.

 

Harbor Road Park

(1230 S. Concord Street) - This 4 acre park is located in southwest Davenport and features a basketball court, ball fields and playground equipment for children.

 

Herington Park

(935 Brown St) - A 2 acre park complete with a basketball court, picnic shelters and playground equipment.

 

Indian Springs

(1000 Spring Street) - This historic, small 2 acre green space park marks the site of a natural American Indian spring in the Village of East Davenport.  No facilities.

 

Jefferson Park

(1012 W 12th St)  - 12 acres of park that contains ball fields, a basketball court, and playground equipment.

 

Junge Park

(3250 Western Ave) - This park is considered to be the one of the best locations to engage in sports and recreation play.  Situated along the Duck Creek Parkway and Bike Path, it includes baseball and softball fields, along with sand volleyball and basketball courts, a reservable picnic shelter, restrooms and playground equipment. 

 

Lafayette Park

(700 W 4th Street)  - 2 acres of park land that features ball fields, a basketball court, and playground equipment.

 

LeClaire Park and Bandshell
(400 W. Beiderbecke Drive) - This 400 acre riverfront park captures the scenic pleasure of the Mississippi River. This park invites fun and major Quad City events year round.  A large, full service bandshell hosts great musical concerts.  Features include picnic shelters, horseshoe pits, fishing, bike path access, eagle watching and a river view all in this historical downtown Davenport park.  Adjacent to the park is Modern Woodmen Park, one of the Midwest's premier baseball stadiums.    

 

LeClaire Heights Park

(735 E 10th St) -  This 4 acre park features picnic shelters and playground equipment for children.

 

Lindsay Park
(2200 E. 11th St) -  This terrific 31 acre historical park is located in the Village of East Davenport and is home to a beautiful Mississippi river view.  Formerly the site of the civil war Camp McClellan, the park includes a basketball court, softball field, restrooms, a firehouse museum and playgrounds.  Adjacent to the park is shopping and dining in the East Village, as well as the New Ground Theater.  Across River Drive there is a parking lot, more playground equipment, access to the Riverfront Parkway, and a landing site for the Channel Cat Water Taxi during the season.  

 

Marquette Park

(3200 N Marquette Street)  This park features reservable picnic shelters, ball fields, and playground equipment on its 31 acres.  Duck Creek Bike Path access is also available through Marquette Park.

 

Monroe Park

(1625 W 3rd Street)  - At this 1.5 acre park you can find ball fields, a basketball court, and playground equipment.

 

North Gayman Park

(2400 N Gayman Ave) -  This small 1 acre park features playground equipment.

 

Northwest Park

(3400 N. Division Street)  - This park consists of 30 acres of space that includes ball fields, reservable picnic shelters, basketball and tennis courts, playground equipment and access to the Duck Creek Parkway and Bike Path.

 

Petersen Park

(3005 W Central Park Ave) - 4 acres of park land that includes ballfields, basketball and tennis courts and playground equipment.

 

Prairie Heights Park

(5600 Eastern Ave) - This 220 acre park in Northern Davenport has a playground, picnic shelter, restrooms and is home to multiple ball fields that are great for Little League Tournaments.

 

Prospect Terrace Park

(1600 Prospect Drive) -  3 acres of historical park ground on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi River.  Green space only with no facilities, the park is still ideal for watching eagles or just taking in magnificent river views. 

 

Ridgeview Park

(1819 Ridgeview Dr) -  Picnic shelters, playground equipment, ball fields, and a basketball court are some of the things you will find at this 11 acre park located in north Davenport.

Riverfront Parkway and Bike Path  
A multiple-use paved trail system extending 4.75 miles along the Mississippi waterfront from Credit Island to Bettendorf.  A second paved trail, Duck Creek Parkway, extends from Emeis Park in west Davenport 8.26 miles east to Bettendorf.  Both these trails have additional sections in Bettendorf.

 

Riverview Terrace

(1455 Clay St) - This historical 3 acre park is well known for it's great view of the Mississippi River.  Green space only; no facilities.

Skate Park

(905 W River Dr) - See Centennial Park.  A great place for skateboarding, roller blades or BMX bikers.  (Click for photo).

 

Slattery Park

(4629 Northwest Blvd) - 7.5 acres of park that includes ball fields, picnic shelters and playground equipment.

 

Sunderbruch Park

(4675 Telegraph Road) - A 134 acre tract of land on Davenport's west side.  Sunderbruch Park consists of three main trail systems: hiking, off-road biking, and equestrian trails.  It also includes a picnic shelter and restrooms.

 

Sylvan Park

(707 Sylvan Ave) - A small 1 acre green space park with no facilities.

Tyler Park

(2005 Grand Ave) - A 4 acre park with a ball diamond and playground equipment.

Van Buren Park

(300 S. Elmwood Avenue)  - At this 3.5 acre park you can find ball fields, horseshoe pits, basketball and tennis courts, playground equipment, as well as picnic shelters.

 

Vander Veer Botanical Park
(215 W. Central Park Avenue) - This 34 acre park welcomes approximately 25,000 visitors to continuous floral shows year-round. One of Davenport's oldest parks, facilities include a lighted stone fountain, a lagoon, and a hosta glade. The rose garden and conservatory are especially popular as wedding sites.

Whalen Park

(2800 W 73rd St) - A 2.3 acre park that includes a softball field, playground and community picnic shelter.

Annie Wittenmyer Complex

(2816 Eastern Ave) -  This historic complex dates from the Civil War and has several cottages used as classroom and meeting space.  It also houses Mary Nighswander Theater which is used for Performing Arts events and is home to Davenport Junior Theater. 

City Cemetery

(1625 Rockingham Rd) - The Parks and Recreation Department maintains what is one of the oldest cemeteries in the city.  For more information on Davenport city history, visit the Davenport Public Library's history page.

Collins House

(1234 E 29th St) - A simple 4-room farmhouse in Garfield Park from 1832 that was left to the City of Davenport to be used for recreational purposes.  Today the Parks and Recreation Department uses the Collins House for various programs and activities.  Not available for rental.

LeClaire House

(630 E 7th St) - The 1855 historic home of one of the City of Davenport's founding fathers, Antoine LeClaire, is currently closed to the public.  It is not available for rental or touring at this time.

Littig House

(6035 Northwest Blvd) - This 1867 stone farm house was originally built by John Littig, carriage driver for Antoine LeClaire, one of the City of Davenport's founding fathers.  Today it is available for group functions to qualifying organizations.  It is not available for private parties.

The River's Edge

(700 W River Dr) - Davenport's Indoor Sports Complex and home to the Parks and Recreation Administrative Office.  See River's Edge webpage for more details.

Roosevelt Community Center

(1220 Minnie Ave) - Originally a school built in 1925, this community center now houses a number of community programs including a Senior Center, Boys and Girls Club, and Boy Scouts.  Roosevelt also has facilities for rent.  See Rental Facilities for more information.

Soccer Complex

(8991 N Division St) - This 40 acre facility has 8 irrigated regulation sized fields with restrooms, concession stand, picnic shelters and ample parking.  The facility is available for game, league, camp and tournament play.
