April 19 - Day 33

We've hit another milestone in terms of game progress! Kristine has finally (finally!) gotten her 8th badge, and is ready to head for the Elite Four! Before she goes there though she went and caught a Lugia and a Raikou. I told her she's not even halfway through the game, and she said she wanted a break. Oh hell no!

April 12 - Day 26

Kristine caught her first Legendary Dog! I'm so proud of her! I congratulated her, right after I lectured her about mispronouncing all of the dog's names (En-tee? Soo-ee-soon? No, dummy!).

April 9 - Day 23

Kristine is making steady progress, and has earned her 7th badge. She caught a Jynx, but she totally hates it because it looks like a freaky prostitute. I told her she needed to get a Ditto and make it bump uglies so that they make a baby Smoochum, but she refuses.

April 8 - Day 22

Kristine finally got her Dratini, Mr Puff from a kid named Max. But what she can't seem to get is a special Pikachu on her Pokewalker. I told her to stop wasting her time but she started crying.

April 6 - Day 20

Turns out Kristine had a barely started copy of Pokemon Pearl that she could use to bring over a small batch of Pokemon. I told her she might have to play through all of Pearl after she finishes SoulSilver, but then she told me she's only in Mahogany Town. I told her to hurry up or my assistant won't give her EXP Share.

April 5 - Day 19

Kristine finally got her first legitimate trade (I'm so proud!). After finally getting the Wi-Fi in the office to work, we christened the journey with a Scyther from one Stuart Allred. Now that this is all set up Kristine can start getting all those starters!

March 30 - Day 13

I haven't been able to check up on Kristine's progress because she took a trip to Atlanta, or as I like to refer to it, the Hoenn region (oh snap!). But now she's back, and has another badge under her belt. We're in our new office now, and once we figure out how to set up the Wi-Fi Kristine will be able to start trading. She has an e-mail inbox full of messages, all of which are way more informative and helpful than any of the phone calls you receive in the game (stop telling me about your Rattata!).

March 23 - Day 7

Kristine has three badges now and has reached the GTS! We now have a wider opportunity for acquiring more Pokemon. One of the driving motivational factors for Kristine has been her desire for a Vulpix. It seems she caught one though, so I fear she may become complacent. I might have to kill it if she slacks off.

March 22 - Day 6

Kristine's progress is slow, but steady. She caught the Nidorans, and a Machop and she should be reaching Goldenrod City today which will open up the Global Trade Station. When I told her to play Pokemon during her lunch break and any free moment she told me to stop hovering around her desk and finish my reviews.

March 18, 2010 - Day 2

Kristine got her first badge today! My heart swelled with joy, but in order to keep my image as the stern mentor I called her a noob and told her to play faster.

Kristine caught 12 Pokemon today. It's the usual early ones like a Sentret and a Mareep. Her Mystery Egg hatched as well so she now has a Togepi. She also participated in her first legitimate trade with fellow IGN Editor Ryan Geddes, and got herself a Hoothoot.

We'll see how she does over the weekend. Greg Miller better not distract her or I'll break his Trophy Whore thumbs.

March 17, 2010 - Day 1

Kristine starts playing Pokemon SoulSilver. She's excited about it, and keeps asking me which Pokemon are cutest. I decide to give her a head start, and give her a batch of Eevees and their Eeveelutions. I even give her a shiny Vaporeon because it's pink (Protip: girls love pink stuff).

I'm worried if Kristine really knows what she's getting into. The last time she played Pokemon there was a measly 150 monsters. Now it's nearly 500, spanning four generations of games. I give her some quick quizzes to assess her Poke-knowledge. The results are dim.

I'm going to hope the readers pitch in early and often. Kristine is going to need some help. She doesn't even know what the Hoenn region is!

You heard the lady folks! She needs a Dragonite (maybe get her a Dratini first so she can level it up). That's your first assignment, hop to it!
