Katy Perry sorry for Lily Allen 'fat' joke
Stuff.co.nz | Wednesday, 10 December 2008SORRY ABOUT THAT: Katy Perry has apologised for hinting that Lily Allen was overweight.
Controversial pop star Katy Perry has apologised for making a quip about British singer Lily Allen being overweight.
During a radio interview in the UK, Allen accused the singer of hit single I Kissed a Girl of calling her fat.
Allen claimed Perry was signed by her record label as an "American version" of her, and said she was "frosty" with Perry when she met her for the first time.
"When I met her I was a bit frosty with her because someone asked her to describe herself. She's like, 'Aha, I'm like a fatter version of Amy Winehouse and a skinner version of Lily Allen!'
"It's like, you're not English and you don't write your own songs. Shut up!"
Perry told Usmagazine.com that the remarks were supposed to be a joke.
"Yeah, I made a joke about (it) earlier this year. I was just kind of joking and trying to be funny. I didn't mean anything by it.
