The Japanese Supplementary School (JSS) is now in development and scheduled to begin in April. This school is primarily for the children of Japanese families moving into the north Mississippi area with their companies. The main purpose of the JSS is to help Japanese children maintain their Japanese language fluency and to help them to integrate smoothly into Japanese school life when they return to Japan. All instruction will be in Japanese.
The JSS plans to have graduate assistants as an instructor, primarily from partnership universities in Japan while we have other certified instructors with appropriate teaching experience in Japan to support the school as well.
The JSS will follow the Japanese educational system as closely as possible.
Special activities will be planned throughout the year to provide Japanese children opportunities to experience and understand their tradition. Cultural events in the community are also planned for the future.
The Japanese Supplementary School will be held in the Della Davidson School located at the intersection of Highway 7 and Sisk Avenue, two exits north of the Highway 6 and Highway 7 interchange.

From the north or south on I-55:In Batesville, take Hwy 6E into Oxford. Take Hwy 7N toward Holly Springs, and take a right at the second exit, Sisk Ave. The Della Davidson School will be on your right.
From the north or south on Hwy 7: as you enter Oxford look for the Sisk Ave exit. From the north turn left onto Sisk, cross under Hwy 7 and the conference center will be on your right. From the south, exit to the right and the Della Davidson School will be on your right.
From the east on Hwy 6: When you enter Oxford, take Hwy 7N towards Holly Springs. Take your second exit at Sisk Ave. and the Della Davidson School will be on the right.
