Wireless Network Access

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

Virus protection is required on any computer connecting to the BYU campus network. For further information refer to the Software Distribution product page.

What does this product do?

Provides the capability (within a building) to connect to the campus network without using cables or wires.

How do I access this service?

Wireless Network Access is available in several campus buildings including:

  • ASB (Smoot Administration Building, Abraham O.)
  • CB (Clyde Engineering Building, W. W.)
  • CTB (Crabtree Technology Building, Roland A.)
  • FB (Fletcher Building, Harvey L.)
  • HFAC (Harris Fine Arts Center, Franlkin S.) - Main Floor Gallery Only
  • HBLL (Lee Library, Harold B.) - Periodicals, Business Mgmt. and Level 3 Middle Study Area Only
  • HCEB (Harman Building, Caroline Hemenway 'Continuing Education') - Conference Rooms Only
  • JRCB (Clark Building, J. Reuben 'Law School')
  • MB (McDonald Building, Howard S.)
  • MCKB (McKay Building, David O.)
  • SAB (Student Athlete Building)
  • SFH (Smith Fieldhouse, George Albert)
  • SNLB (Snell Building, William H.)
  • TLRB (Taylor Building, John 'Comprehensive Clinic')
  • TMCB (Talmage Math Sciences/Computer Building)
  • TNRB (Tanner Building, N. Eldon)
  • WSC (Wilkinson Student Center, Ernest L.)

A wireless network card must be installed, setup and registered. For setup and registration instructions, refer to the link(s) in the left sidebar.

For wireless ports, authentication is required once daily and each time you connect from a different location. To authenticate, open a Web browser to http://www.byu.edu. You will be redirected to an authentication screen, and prompted to enter your Net ID and password.

*NOTE: Do not register another person's computer using your Net ID. Individuals will be held responsible for any activity that occurs on a computer registered to them.
