Terms:

The Basic Email size limitation is restricted to 20 MB per individual account. Once the 20 MB boundary is reached, no messages can be received and any incoming messages will be bounced until enough messages are purged to get below 20 MB. Sending email is not affected by this size limit.

You will lose access to your BYU mailbox if leaving the University for any reason. Students will not lose access if they obtain a proper deferment to leave for only one semester. After graduation, the alumnus should find another mailbox (ISP provided, Hotmail, Yahoo, etc.) and transfer all email from within the BYU mailbox to the new mailbox. The @byu.net email addresses (not an email box) are available on the alumni Web site for those who are interested.

NOTE: Accessing Basic Email with a cell phone is not a supported feature.

What are the choices?

Supported Browsers:

  • Netscape
  • Mozilla
  • Firefox
  • Opera
  • Safari
  • Internet Explorer (must upgrade Windows XP to Service Pack 2)

NOTE: A department e-mail box is available for employees through Premium Email by ordering a generic account for the department.
